Employment, LABOR & EMPLOYEE BENEFITS LAW PRACTICE GROUP
This Practice Group represents private and public employers that are both unionized and non-unionized. Our activities include:
- Negotiating and drafting labor agreements
- Representation in grievance arbitrations
- Unfair labor practice proceedings
- Affirmative action, handicapper, and other civil rights disputes
- Union elections
- Drafting of employee handbooks
- Personnel administration and policies
- Strikes and other work stoppages
- Consultation on wage/hour issues
- Many other labor and employment-related issues and problems
- Employer benefits planning and development
Members of the department regularly practice before Michigan and federal courts, the National Labor Relations Board, the Michigan Employment Relations Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. and Michigan Civil Rights Departments, the Equal Opportunity Commission, and other federal and state administrative agencies regarding employment-related matters.
